Arne founded HedgeAssist in 2001 to provide additive services to alternative investment managers and funds. Through its operational servicing arm, HedgeAssist offers sub-administration services (outsourced COO and administration) to alternative investment funds and their managers, while operational due diligence services are offered to institutional investors through Arne's operational due diligence expertise. Arne is also a Partner with Alpha Alternatives, a full service administration firm founded in 2013, and Coronado Investments, a boutique broker-dealer that focuses on alternative investment capital raises (since 2004). Arne oversees manager due diligence, legal and regulatory compliance, and operations. Previously, from 1997-2001, Arne was a minority owner and founder of The Ultimate Network of Alternatives, LLC, operators of Hedgefund.Net, a hedge fund manager and investor portal that was sold in 2001. Prior to that, Arne worked as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Escondido from 1996-1997, and the State of California as an investigator from 1988-1996. From 1991-1994 during his time with the State of California, Arne attended the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Order of the Coif, an honorary scholastic society that recognizes excellence in legal education. Arne is an active member of the California State Bar and holds Series 7 and 24 securities licenses.
Prior to joining HedgeAssist in 2019, Patricia founded Catalina Partners, an independent operational due diligence and private fund consultant, in 2009 to serve investors and managers in the alternative investment space. At Catalina Partners, she led evaluations of investment manager’s operations to identify and remedy business risks. She regularly shares her extensive knowledge of best business practices at industry forums. From 2002 to 2008, Patricia held Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer positions at a large fund of hedge funds advisor located in Irvine, California. Patricia holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Financial Economics from University of California, Riverside. She earned a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Prior to joining HedgeAssist in 2019, Michelle was associated with Catalina Partners (2001-2018). With 20 years as CFO, COO, and CCO for an SEC registered private money manager, Michelle brings extensive knowledge of firm operations, domestic and offshore funds, and managed accounts to clients. She is a recognized expert in the hedge fund industry, frequently addressing operational, regulatory, and compliance topics at national conferences and seminars. Michelle holds a CPA license in Washington and was formerly associated with a national CPA firm where she focused on audits of publicly traded companies, public securities offerings, and other SEC filings. She is commended for an extensive list of volunteer activities and leadership positions for non-profit organizations.
Jasinda serves as an Administrator and Operations Analyst for HedgeAssist. She is responsible for the management and day-to-day control of assigned alternative funds through HedgeAssist's sub-administration servicing arm and serves an ODD analyst for aspects of HedgeAssist's ODD services. Jasinda has been working in the alternative investment industry since 2002. She began her career as a fund administrator for Hedgeworks, LLC and then as an Assistant Vice President for Deutsche Bank after DB acquired Hedgeworks in 2008. At Deutsche Bank she specialized in guiding funds from the startup phase to the launch of the fund. Jasinda received her bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Iowa.
Kristin joined HedgeAssist in August 2017 as an operations analyst and assistant sub-administrator. She assists with operational due diligence projects, including note taking, third party confirmation work and quarterly reviews. She also provides day-to-day sub-administration control functions, including subscription document and AML reviews, cash controls, and communications functions. Kristin graduated from the University of San Diego, Class of 2017, with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.
Mark Richards joined HedgeAssist in February 2019. He is responsible for day-to-day operations including internal bookkeeping and financial reporting. He also assists with AML reviews and various cash controls and communications functions.
